How do I get involved?
- Simple. During November and December 2009, go out and have fun!
- On your own, or with friends, colleagues and loved ones. Just simply choose as your venue a DineAid restaurant, and at the end of your meal you may notice a voluntary donation of just $2 per table has been added to the bill. (This is separate to any other gratuity or tips you may chose to leave). The restaurant will send the donations back to us at the end December and we distribute the donations to those who may need a bit of a ‘helping hand’ at this time of year.
So this is instead of giving a tip?
- NO! Those hard working souls who keep your glass filled with fine Pino still deserve their gratuity for good service. The suggested donation to DineAid is just $2 per table (put on the bill after the GST) and should be considered as a donation totally separate to any tip.
What if I don’t want to donate?
- No worries. Just ask your waiting staff to remove the suggested $2 per table donation from the bill.
Who benefits?
- 100% of all moneys raised goes to the beneficiaries due hugely thanks to the support from our principal sponsors.
- 100% of all moneys raised stays in New Zealand and is directed towards those who need a ‘helping hand’ – this year we have identified the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch City Missions as recipients of your kind donations.
Can I give you more than $2?
- Yes please! Just ask to have the bill amended when you are dining out to change the $2 per table to a higher donation of your choice.
Is this legal?
- DineAid is in itself a charitable organisation, registered with the NZ Charities commission.
